17.1 Releases of APX and Geneva: Take a Closer Look
By now, you’re probably aware of the first releases of 2017 to our core solutions. Many of the enhancements included in these updates come directly from conversations with clients or ideas that have surfaced and gained popularity in Advent Community. If you haven’t yet had a first-hand chance to take advantage of the new releases, now is a good time to take a closer look at a few of the highlights:
Advent Portfolio Exchange® and Moxy®
APX clients tell us they want a “best of breadth” offering that supports many portions of their business on a single platform. In response, we’ve invested in improvements across the entire APX suite: portfolio and performance management, CRM, composite management, and integrations. The APX 17.1 release includes expanded data management tools, reporting enhancements and generally improved usability with more efficient workflows. We also added new audit and permission capabilities that will enable firms to comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the most significant change in data privacy regulation in 20 years.
The most noticeable change to Moxy is a redesigned user interface with a more modern look and feel and streamlined order creation. Other key enhancements include connectivity with support of the 4.4 FIX protocol and integration with the SSCNet network to give clients more post-trade communication options. The foundation for MiFID II support was incorporated with a plan to complete it later this year. Also worth noting is the continued investment in integration across APX, Moxy and Advent Rules Manager® as well as with other SS&C solutions.

Investment in Geneva continues to ensure its position as the premier portfolio accounting and reporting system providing depth of asset class coverage in any currency and structure. Firms updating to 17.1 receive updates to Geneva’s Enterprise Information Store, the real-time accounting data store that makes data access easier and reporting more efficient. Other enhancements added depth in functionality for accounting for bank debt, swaps, forward FX and other complex instruments. On Geneva World Investor support for closed-end funds was improved by automating the subsequent close process. In addition, there are new expanded trackable investor liquidity options, allowing firms to easily report on liquidity for current and future capital flows.
The Geneva 17.1 releases webinar explains these and other enhancements in full detail.
