SS&C Advent was awarded “Best Accounting System Provider” by Waters Rankings for 2017, its third win in a row in the category.  Advent’s Geneva® solution previously won in 2015 and 2016; Advent Portfolio Exchange® (APX) also received acknowledgement in the award this year.

Waters Rankings recognizes the top technology and service providers in financial technology, as voted on by the Waters readership. Each category had more than 20 potential choices, making this year among the most competitive in the program’s esteemed history.

“We’re honored to receive the award which reflects our focus on delivering solutions that enhance the value we bring to our clients and the value they deliver to their investors,” noted Robert Roley, General Manager, SS&C Advent. “We empower the investment management industry’s most successful firms and our clients expect extraordinary user experience and client servicing capability, even for the most complex workflows and investment strategies. We are proud that our clients recognized what we’ve delivered for the third consecutive year.”

In addition to enhanced user experience, data management tools and regulatory compliance were a key focus in this year’s product roadmap. Geneva clients gained the ability to leverage the Enterprise Information Store, a new real-time data warehouse that makes data easier to access and reporting more efficient. Over 300 Geneva clients in 28 countries – including asset managers, hedge funds, fund administrators, prime brokers, mutual funds, and ETFs – leverage the platform as a unified IBOR solution for a full spectrum of business needs across the front, middle and back offices.

From an investment strategy perspective, we have seen tremendous growth in distressed and illiquid credit strategies, an area where Geneva excels. The search for alpha – especially when it takes firms in multiple directions in terms of geography, strategy and asset class – has been a tailwind for a product that can handle them all. Geneva has extended its market leadership with the ability to handle any asset class through any fund structure, anywhere in the world.

For our APX clients this year’s focus on regulatory compliance improvements enables firms to address the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and MiFID II.  Digital client experience and client communications remain priorities for the foreseeable future as well. We continue to enhance the data management capability within APX, with clients wanting more data, more accessibility to the data, and with the assurance that it is the same timely, accurate data regardless of how they access it.

Today, APX serves almost 900 clients in 39 countries including asset managers, wealth managers, family offices and RIAs.  These clients tell us they want a comprehensive offering that supports end-to-end operational processes serving front, middle and back office users on a single platform. With APX, portfolio accounting, reporting and client management tools sit in a single dataset and streamlined integration to solutions for trading, compliance, revenue management extend the unified platform.

The entire SS&C Advent organization deeply values the award for Best Accounting System Provider. We view the recognition as testament to our commitment to continue to bring maximum value to our clients through superior technology based solutions and services.
